Our certificate in Church Ministry programme provides students with a basic but solid theological and Biblical knowledge for ministry and further studies. It is designed for Pastors, Church Leaders, Elders, Evangelists, Life-Group Leaders and everyone interested in growing in the knowledge of the Word of God.
1ST YEAR
Old Testament Survey 2
This module focusses on the Prophets of the Old Testament. A brief description and summary of each book from historical context, the contents, places, events and message discussed.
Christian Doctrine 1 (B)
This is also called Systematic Theology. Special focus will be Man and Sin. The biblical view of man is explored as God’s apex of creation and special place man was ordained to. The Fall of man and consequence of sin is examined.
Christian Doctrine 2 (B)
In this module focus will be placed on Soteriology or the Doctrine of Salvation. The terms such as conversion, regeneration, justification, righteousness, repentance would form the basis of this module.
Homiletics 1: Sermon Preparation and Delivery
Principles and practices of preparing Biblical sermons with special focus on expository and contextual relevant preaching in South Africa.
O.T Survey 3
This module focusses on the O.T Poetic books and looks at issues of genre, style, context, meaning, message and events.
2ND YEAR
In this module continuation from 1st year to 2nd year focus will be placed on Pneumatology, that covers the work of the third person of the Trinity.
Christian Doctrine 4
In this module focus will be placed on Eschatology. The module deal with books such as Revelation and other apocalyptic books to understand the Doctrine of the Last Days. Different millennium viewpoints will be looked at and examine against the Scriptures.
New Testament Survey 2
This module provides the student with a survey of the New Testament, covering critical issues of authorship, provenance, recipients and major themes. Focus is on Epistles and Revelation.
Homiletics 2: Sermon Preparation and Delivery
This module is in-depth practice to prepare biblically sound sermons by applying principles and practices to enhance expository and contextually relevant preaching.
Devotional Books Reading
This module deals with classical writings of Puritans and Reformers from 16th Century onwards. In a structured and systematic way, students engage in reflective devotional reading for spiritual growth, renewal and inner transformation. Class pesentations or summary of selected books are used for assesssment.
